Dear all
As per the notice of US Custom and Border Protection (CBP) that any cargo enters United States with In-bond transit process, CBP required 6-digit level Harmonized Tariff Schedule code under U.S. Custom’s Tariff (HTSUS) that referring to the cargo description manifested on the Bill of lading. This requirement applicable for both Full container load and Less than container load shipments while in-bond transit is involved in the transportation.
We will submit the cargo information along with the HTS code to shipping lines that based on the shipping instructions (S/I) from the shippers, we are not able to verify or classify the validity or correctness of the HTS codes, though, we will remind shippers to provide the accurate HTS codes in time, and cross check the HTS codes with the S/I and ISF data. In order for better compliance of this regulation, please inform your customers (the consignees) to instruct their shippers to provide the valid HTS codes to us at origin in time.
Currently we received the relevant notices from shipping lines and CFS, enclosed some of the notices for your reference.
